This is a presentation of the national identification code that all Italian accommodations are required to obtain. We invite you to visit the official website of the Banca Dati Strutture Ricettive, maintained by the Italian Minister of Tourism. You may contact the relevant bodies in your Municipality or Region/Province to receive the latest and most detailed information regarding the identification code. You may also seek help from a local legal expert.

What is the national identification code (codice identificativo nazionale)?

In June 2024, the Italian Minister of Tourism published the platform to request and verify a CIN. This National Database will be fed by the information obtained by Regions/Autonomous Provinces upon the local registration of tourist rental on their territories.

Relevant accommodations still need to register on the regional level and obtain a regional identification code. Check this FAQ about the Italian regional identification code

Types of accommodations targeted

All types of accommodations receiving temporary visitors must obtain a national code. It includes all accommodation facilities (strutture ricettive) and short-term rentals (locazioni brevi) (in the sense of Article 4 of Decreto-Legge No. 50 of April 24, 2017).

Publication of the identification code

In application of national law, it is mandatory to add the accommodation CIN (national code) to all advertisements once you obtain one. In the meantime, please include the accommodation CIR - but once a CIN is assigned, this is the right code to add to your misterb&b listing(s).

You must add the CIN to your misterb&b listing(s) (go to the “Local Requirements” page, via “Edit my listing”). In the absence of a valid CIN, misterb&b may delete your listing.

Obtaining your national identification code

You can request a CIN (national code) for your accommodation on the website of the National Database. The process can be completed online - however please note you must have registered at the regional level first.
