VAT or GST is a tax on the consumption of goods and services, typically borne by the final consumer. The name of this tax may vary by country—e.g., Consumption Tax, Sales Tax, etc.
When you:
- use the platform to make or accept a booking, or
- subscribe to enjoy additional social networking features on "weere",
misterb&b is considered to be providing you with an electronic service. In jurisdictions where such electronically supplied services are subject to VAT or GST, misterb&b is legally required to apply the applicable tax on the related service fees/subscription.
VAT/GST invoices
Where applicable, the VAT/GST charged on the fees/subscription is shown on your invoice. To find and download your invoice:
- For Guest’s invoice: go to your account, “My trips” (for invoices of past travels, then go to “Past Trips”)
- For Host’s invoice: go to your account, “My guests”
For weere subscribers: invoices will be sent to the email address associated with your misterb&b account.
Users registered for VAT/GST (reverse charge mechanism)
In certain jurisdictions, misterb&b may not charge VAT/GST on your service fees or subscription if you are VAT/GST registered. In such cases, you remain responsible for reporting and paying the applicable tax directly to your local tax authorities.
If you are VAT/GST registered, please provide your registration number. You’ll find instructions on how to do so below.
Please note that misterb&b may verify the VAT/GST information you submit, either as part of our internal procedures or as required by law. For more details, please refer to our FAQ about the verification of VAT/GST numbers by misterb&b.
VAT/GST applicable on the provision of accommodations by Hosts
Note for Hosts. In some jurisdictions, VAT/GST may apply to the accommodation and other services you provide to Guests. Where this is the case, you are responsible for charging the appropriate VAT/GST, and for reporting and remitting it to the relevant tax authorities. We strongly recommend that you clearly inform Guests about any applicable tax in your Listing description.
However, in certain localities, misterb&b is legally required to collect VAT/GST on the accommodation services you provide. In those cases, we collect the tax from the Guest and handle the reporting and remittance directly to the tax authorities on your behalf.
Please refer to the section below for details on where these rules apply, or visit our FAQ for more information.
